Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris

Sacre Coeur is located on the hill of Montmartre , which is the highest point in Paris . The author of the project was the famous architect Paul Abadie. Construction of the basilica began in 1875 and completed only in 1923. The temple was built from an unusual white stone, which is mined in quarries Chateau Landon .
