Biarritz is famous as one of the most luxurious resorts of Côte d’Argent (Silver Coast). The town is situated in Aquitaine region of Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the south-western part of France.
In past times, the resort used to be a beloved destination for aristocrats and members of royal families. Nowadays, leaders of different states often have their rest here. The town was built on several hills next to the Bay of Biscay. Due to the strong winds which create high waves, Biarritz has become a world-famous surfing centre. The climate is mild and moderately humid, in a hot summer the water temperature reaches +25°С, the high season lasts from May till October.
