Nature Park of the Camargue

The Camargue is a natural region of south-eastern France, about 150 000 ha, which extend between the two arms of the Rhone. This is the delta of the river. You will find everything south of the Mediterranean Sea. 

Being an area largely covered with water, few cities there. There including Arles, to the north, which has common as Salin-de-Giraud. You will also find among other Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, south beachfront. 

Here you will discover the legendary races of Camargue horses and bulls. You can admire them in their pastures but also in performances Courses Camarguaises.  

Natural Park of the Camargue has paths that can be borrowed through: Hiking, horseback riding, cycling, motor with quads or off-road cars but also on lakes kayak. Of these so you can discover a large floral and animal variety, especially in the Natural Reserve of Camargue where you can see loan 280 different species of birds. Many ponds allows these birds to live properly. There including the Vaccarès Pond, the largest, the pond Monro or even the Pond Galabert and many other smaller ones. 

The area is somewhat marked by human activity. You can still see some huts or cottages Camargue old. They have the distinction of being built in reed. Saline can also be visited, Aigues-Mortes for example. 

Ideal for up to see things in the Camargue is to sleep in Arles. Since this city there are buses that take you around the park. Eg by Carteize network with summer line # 20 Arles - Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer or the ACCM network with Agglo line 10 which takes up Salin-de-Giraud.
